Painted on August 15th, 2021, St. Clair on the east side is an old Slovenian neighborhood that’s seen better days. North of St. Clair towards the lake is a large industrial district that stops at the highway that runs parallel with Lake Erie. There’s lots to appreciate around these parts if you’re a fan of beleagured industy. I didn’t see a soul the whole time I painted this, but heard activity in the buildings.
